Saigon is undoubtedly the epicenter of craft beer in Vietnam. But Central Vietnam is stepping up it’s craft beer game and isn’t too far behind. I still remember back in 2014 when Fatfish in Da Nang got Pasteur Street on tap. I thought “This is it, the moment we have been waiting for. Craft beer is here!” Except we were still a long ways off from having a vibrant craft beer scene; Central Vietnam has come a long ways since then. Here are a few places you can get craft beer (besides of course here at Imperial Craft Bia):
Momma D’s in Phong Nha – Quang Binh
The owner Denise is super welcoming and will proudly introduce her newest beer arrivals when you walk out onto the 6th-floor rooftop lounge. Great views with awesome food as well, so be sure to stop in after a day exploring the caves.
Hops & Crust – 84 Cao Ba Quat – Da Nang
21 taps including some less common things (at least in these parts) like Lac Brewing, Belgo Cherry and Saigon Cider. They also do killer pizzas so come for dinner and stay for a few beers.
Tap House – 3 Phan Chu Trinh – Hoi An
Right in the heart of the Old Town, this is the perfect place to stop in on a hot afternoon. You can get a flight featuring some of Vietnam’s best breweries like Heart of Darkness, Pasteur Street and East West.
Bungalow Beach Bar – 101 Nguyen Phan Vinh – Hoi An (An Bang Beach)
These guys just celebrated their 1 year anniversary earlier this year. Bungalow have got 20 taps featuring beers from Furbrew, Fuzzy Logic, Heart of Darkness and Pasteur Street. They also have an amazing taco Tuesday that will have you coming back for thirds.
Hoi An Brewing Company – 161 Nguyen Duy Hieu – Hoi An
This is as craft as they come. Owner/Brewer Ryan makes his beer onsite and serves it himself from his 8 tap setup. And the World Famous Chicken Sandwich is named appropriately. We are also proud to have his beer on tap at Imperial Craft Bia.
